One of the first questions I hear from my clients moving into the area from the east is "What about the Water?

In 1980 Arizona passed the Groundwater Management Act that set the achievement of "safe yield" a balance between groundwater withdrawal and artificial/natural recharge, as a goal for water providers in many areas of our State - Maricopa County being one of them..

As part of this law, cities in these counties are required to meet regulations required to receive the "100 year asssured water supply" - and undergo update and review every 15 years.  This provided challenges to the various citys in the Valley, but because of these requirements our Valley's water resources are probably in much better shape than many areas of the country where water has always been taken for granted!!

The City of Scotsdale receives water from 2 sources: Salt River Project (SRP) and the Central Arizona Project (CAP)
